Application of Orthodontic Appliance
Once the treatment plan is finalized, the next step involves the application of the chosen orthodontic appliance. If braces are chosen, brackets will be bonded to your teeth and wires threaded through. If Invisalign is chosen, custom-made clear aligners will be created from a digital scan of your teeth. These aligners are worn over the teeth and are nearly invisible. Regardless of the appliance, the goal is the same: to apply gentle, consistent pressure to gradually shift your teeth into alignment.
Regular Adjustments and Monitoring
Orthodontic treatment requires regular follow-up visits for adjustments and monitoring. If braces are used, the wires will be adjusted to keep the teeth moving in the right direction. With Invisalign, new sets of aligners will be provided every one to two weeks. Throughout the treatment, the doctor will monitor the progress to ensure the teeth are moving as planned.
